Scam Alert: Scammers posing as Fraud Alert Notifications.
Be aware of fake Fraud Alert Notifications. A true Fraud Alert will ask you if a specific charge on your card was made by you. It will include the location, amount and last 4 numbers of the card. If you respond NO, you will be prompted to contact the Fraud Department and they will prompt you to contact us at the EEFCU.
Several members have received alerts for “Best Buy” out of Florida, that DOES NOT contain the last 4 card numbers. When NO is responded, the scammer then calls and asks for the information. Do not give them any information, if it is a true alert, they would already have the information. Hang up and call the EEFCU to verify.
